ek'o is a word from the Dene language; it means "watch out"!
It is pronounced: e - short hard "e", k - as in cat, o - as in "on" with a soft "n" at the back of the throat.

The ek'o line is produced by Dene Fur Clouds Ltd. of Fort Providence, Northwest Territories. The ek'o team takes pride in producing a line of products rich in their Northern heritage. From traditional methods, knowledge and resources comes a line of products in which the ways of the Dene life are interwoven.

"DE" flow, "NE" Mother Earth
DENE a people of the Creator and of Creation

"Dene" is the name of an indigenous group of First Nations people living in the sub-arctic region of the Northwest Territories, Canada, and who for thousands of years have lived in harmony with the land. There are five distinct Dene regional groups, each with their own territory and language, enriched by distinct histories, arts, crafts and cultural skills.

The Dene's respect and knowledge of the environment has enabled them to thrive in one of the most demanding locations on earth. Conservation management and the use of sustainable resources are innate survival skills. Every part of an animal is respected and has a specific purpose, be it for food, home or clothing.

The ek'o design team has drawn inspiration and materials from habitat and history in the design and making of their line of sustainable urban accessories for people and homes.

ek'o is very much a product of it's environment.
